The Boy and the Heron (Dubbed)

The Boy and the Heron

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Film, The Boy and the Heron is a semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation,
in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki. Long acknowledged as Japan’s preeminent animator and director, Hayao Miyazaki remained a cult figure to American devotees of “manga” (Japanese comic books) and “anime” (Japanese animated features). He came out of retirement to make this movie, his first film in 10 years, with Studio Ghibli, which he co-founded.

A young boy named Mahito yearning for his deceased mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning.
