Ryan Salm Slideshow: Greece’s Vjosa River

In the summer of 2024, Ryan Salm and his hearty band of adventurers aimed to paddle the length of the Vjosa River, the last wild river in Europe. Starting in the highlands of Greece, they set out on foot to tour the headwaters before embarking on this epic 14-day, approximately 150-mile journey across the Albanian border and onward to the Ionian Sea.

After winning a hotly contested, multi-year battle against hydroelectric projects throughout Albania, the Vjosa and its tributaries still run freely to the sea. The only question is… Did they make it there?

Join Ryan Salm for an evening of otherworldly storytelling about the ups, downs, aches, pains, glory and heartache attached to these wild adventurers in the far off reaches of the world.
