Everything Everywhere All at Once
Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, the film is a hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese-American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who can’t seem to finish her taxes and is swept up in an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is this year’s arthouse breakout. The pic broke records as A24’s highest grossing movie ever, making over $100 million, and has been nominated for numerous awards. The movie recently won Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Picture and Best Support Actor for Ke Huy Quan (who was a child star in The Goonies and Indiana Jones: the Temple of Doom) at the Critics Choice Awards. Quan also won Best Supporting Actor and Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress at the Golden Globes.
